(VNF) Recently, the top South Korean singer and actress – IU greeted Vietnamese audiences for the first time as the Brand Ambassador for Woori Bank Vietnam.

Woori Bank Vietnam welcomes the Brand Ambassador IU 

In 2024, Woori Financial Group popularized IU’s brand ambassador image across many countries where Woori is present, including Woori Bank Vietnam. On June 28, 2024, IU officially greeted Vietnamese audiences through a video posted on the official Facebook page “Ngân hàng Woori”.

Several posts and images relating to IU which were recently posted on Facebook page “Ngân hàng Woori” have reached significant engagement. Fans and customers alike have shown their great interest in seeing a “national star” like IU in the event of becoming the brand ambassador for the South Korean Bank operating in Vietnam. This development gives Woori Bank a strong foundation to further solidify its brand position as a leading South Korean bank and enhance its competitiveness in the Vietnamese market.

A representative from Woori Bank Vietnam stated: “Woori Bank Vietnam will actively engage with our brand ambassador IU in a variety of activities tailored specifically for the Vietnamese market starting this year. We hope to create extra value and establish ourselves as a trustworthy financial brand among Vietnamese people.

Special reasons for selecting IU as the Brand Ambassador for Woori Financial Group 
On April 24, 2022, Woori Financial Group officially announced the selection of IU – the famous actress and singer beloved by audiences of all ages as the official brand model.

Woori Financial Group believes that IU’s reputation and prestige, established through her solid career across various fields such as music, television, and film, as well as her positive image through her long-term philanthropic activities, align perfectly with the ESG-oriented direction of the group.

There is another special reason for choosing IU as the Brand Ambassador. In Korean, the word “Woori” (pronounced u-ri) means “We/ Us”, symbolizing the connection between I and U. This unique relation inspired the collaboration between Woori and IU, which was successfully showcased in the first campaign “I + YOU = WOORI”.

As known, IU is also a real customer of Woori Bank and Woori Card, utilizing the “Two Chairs” asset management service (1:1 wealth management and consulting services by Woori Bank experts). A short video recording IU using the  “Two Chairs” Black Card has appeared on YouTube and become a hot topic.

After 2 years of collaboration, on April 24, 2024, Woori Financial Group announced a two-year extension of its commercial contract with IU, which means she becomes Woori’s first long-term brand ambassador.

A Woori Financial Group official stated: “ I believe that Woori Financial Group has created a brand that customers look forward to through carrying out various campaigns with IU”. The official added: “We will work hard to generate greater synergy through our positive activities this year.”
