On the afternoon of September 10, 2024, in response to the “Launching Ceremony to support people affected by storm No. 3”, Woori Bank Vietnam donated VND 2 billion through the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee. In addition, the staff of Woori Bank Vietnam called for internal donations and sent this amount to people in areas affected by natural disasters.
In recent days, due to the impact of storm No. 3, many provinces and cities in the Northern region have suffered heavy losses in terms of human lives and property, and many residential areas are currently isolated. Faced with the complicated developments of floods and storms, with the consent of the Party and State leaders, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front launched a fundraising campaign to support people affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi).

Responding to this call as well as the encouragement of the State Bank of Vietnam, on the afternoon of September 10, 2024, the Board of Directors of Woori Bank Vietnam led by General Director PARK JONGIL was present at the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee to directly donate 2 billion VND, initially providing timely support to people in areas affected by floods and landslides.
The representative of the Planning & Strategy Division of Woori Bank Vietnam added that, in addition to the VND 2 billion donation, the staff launched a voluntary internal donation program. This money will be used to buy essential goods and send them to localities that are facing difficulties after the storm.

On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the staff of Woori Bank Vietnam has allocated VND 50 million from the above self-donated amount to donate to areas affected by storms and floods, of which VND 10 million (equivalent to 50 boxes of moon cakes) was donated through Vietnam Finance newspaper and VND 40 million (in cash) was donated through Tuoi Tre newspaper.

At the same time, the staff of Woori Bank allocated 15 million VND to each branch in Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong to support the local people in difficulty. The remaining amount is still being urgently planned for post-storm recovery activities in the provinces and cities that suffered damage from the storm.
Talking to the press, a representative of Woori Bank Vietnam shared that this amount was donated by staff working at the bank. Woori Bank Vietnam hopes that the consensus of the staff will help alleviate some of the losses and quickly support people to recover their daily lives.
