Woori Bank Vietnam (Woori Bank) was honored for the first time in the VNR500 – Top 500 Largest Enterprises in Vietnam 2025 ranking
This achievement was officially announced at the VNR500 Announcement Ceremony, held on January 8, 2026, at the Ho Guom Opera House in Hanoi. Woori Bank’s inclusion in the VNR500 stands as clear evidence of its strong operational performance, impressive revenue growth, and ongoing commitment to innovation and continuous enhancement of products and service quality in recent years.
The VNR500 ranking honors enterprises that make significant contributions to Vietnam’s economic development and promote corporate brands to the domestic and international business community. The ranking is based on annual independent research and evaluation conducted by Vietnam Report since 2007, following international standards. Survey results indicate that businesses have continued to show clear improvements in production and business performance, reflected in revenue, profit, orders, and workforce growth.
In April 2024, Woori Bank increased its charter capital in Vietnam to VND 12.5 trillion, becoming the foreign bank with the largest charter capital in Vietnam. By the end of 2024, Woori Bank recorded a sharp year-on-year increase in total revenue, reaching approximately VND 7.5 trillion. This achievement is attributed to the bank’s localization strategy, enhanced quality of local human resources, and the development of a diversified range of financial products and services powered by advanced technologies, tailored to the needs of both retail and corporate customers.
To date, Woori Bank operates 28 transaction points nationwide, including major cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho. The bank employs more than 900 staff members, with key management positions increasingly being entrusted to Vietnamese professionals. Its products are designed to align closely with the Vietnamese market, including the Woori VV card series featuring multi-category reward points; the Woori WON Vietnam digital banking app, offering a wide range of financial utilities such as fast transfers, cardless cash withdrawals, bill payments, bus ticket booking, and voucher purchases; competitive unsecured and secured loan products; and study abroad deposit products for studying in Korea, among others. In addition, Woori Bank actively supports high-quality FDI enterprises seeking to invest in Vietnam, amid increasingly dynamic economic cooperation between Vietnam and Korea following the Korea-Vietnam Summit 2025.
Alongside its business achievements, Woori Bank demonstrates a strong commitment to social welfare and community development. In 2024, the bank donated VND 2 billion through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support recovery efforts following Typhoon No. 3. In 2025, Woori Bank continued its support with over VND 400 million to assist communities affected by Typhoons No. 10 and No. 11. Each year, the bank regularly organizes charitable activities such as providing financial and in-kind support to underprivileged students, renovating schools in remote areas, organizing community meals, and holding voluntary blood donation programs.
The year 2025 marked a period of significant transformation for Woori Bank Vietnam following the appointment of Mr. Kim ByungJin as the Chief Executive Officer. The bank recorded rapid growth in both revenue and profit, while attracting a substantial number of new customers through integrated sales and marketing strategies. Notably, the CEO has identified the development of a comprehensive digital ecosystem as a core strategic focus to proactively respond to the rapidly accelerating digitalization of the financial sector.
According to Mr. Kim, Woori Bank is approaching its 127th anniversary in Korea and its 28th anniversary of operation in Vietnam. Being recognized among the Top 500 Largest Enterprises in Vietnam is a source of great pride and serves as a strong motivation for Woori Bank to continue delivering outstanding value to its customers, the community, and society at large.
