Woori Bank Vietnam opens West Sai Gon Branch, the 28th branch in operation, continuing to affirm the localization strategy in Vietnam.
On December 23, 2024, Woori Bank Vietnam held the opening ceremony of West Sai Gon Branch in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City. This is the 12th transaction point of Woori Bank in the Southern region, bringing the total number of branches nationwide to 28 and further strengthening the presence of a leading South Korean bank brand in Vietnam.

Woori Bank Vietnam chose to open the West Sai Gon Branch in District 5 because District 5 is a dynamically developing area with many businesses and a densely populated community with diverse financial needs. With this strategic location, Woori Bank aims to meet all customers’ financial demands, from loans, account openings, to modern and convenient electronic banking products.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Park JongIl, General Director of Woori Bank Vietnam, shared that West Sai Gon Branch will be one of Woori Bank’s strategic branches in the South. The branch is specially designed with a dedicated space to provide the “Two Chairs” service for priority customers. Through this service, Woori Bank Vietnam aims to provide excellent service experiences and the most optimal financial solutions for Vietnamese customers.

“Two Chairs” service has been the strength of Woori Bank Korea in the past 20 years and is now applied in Vietnam. True to its name, “Two Chairs” symbolizes two seats- one for a financial advisory expert and one for a priority customer. With this service, customers will receive attentive one-on-one and professional consultation in a quiet, luxurious, and specially designed space.

Earlier, on November 19, Woori Bank Vietnam established Nam Binh Duong Transaction Office – marking the 27th in Binh Duong, a key industrial city in Southern Vietnam.

In Vietnam, Woori Bank has been present for 27 years, starting with Hanoi Branch in 1997, followed by Ho Chi Minh City Branch in 2006, and officially establishing a legal entity in early 2017. After establishing the legal entity, in a short time, Woori Bank Vietnam has expanded business network, reaching most major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, etc., with 28 branches and transaction offices nationwide.
Over the past three years, Woori Bank Vietnam has experienced significant change. The number of individual customers has increased from 370,000 at the end of 2022 to more than over 620,000 as of now. The bank’s capital mobilization and outstanding loan scale have doubled, and many convenient services have been launched to keep up with the demands and trends of the Vietnamese market. In 2025, Woori Bank Vietnam will continue to build a business strategy focusing on retail customers, enhance digital banking services and expand customer base to include high-end customers through “Two Chairs” service.
