Dear Valued Customers;
Pursuant to Circular 03/2025/TT-NHNN about opening and using account by VND to implement foreign indirect investment activities in Viet Nam.
Since 16/06/2025, Foreign individual customers when opening and using indirect investment capital account need some following notices:
- Collection and payment transactions related to foreign indirect investment in Viet Nam by foreign investors being residents shall be conducted via VND- denominated payment accounts of customers opened at bank
- In case foreign individual customers residents have indirect investment capital account (IICA), customers need to transfer the balance from IICA to DDA of customers before 16/07/2025 to continue implementing indirect investment activities. Customers may be active to transfer the balance from IICA to DDA of customers according to the current transfer process of bank via app Won or at the transaction points of Woori Vietnam. Since 16/07/2025, Woori Vietnam will be automatic to stop all transactions related to indirect investment of IICA of customers
- In case foreign individual customers residents do not have account at Woori Vietnam and have needs about transactions related to foreign indirect investment in Vietnam, customers will only open DDA to implement transactions
- In case foreign individual customers are non-residents, customers continue implementing transactions related to foreign indirect investment activities via IICA of customers or only open new IICA if they do not have account to implement transactions related to foreign indirect investment activities
Note: To determine customers are resident or non-resident based on the term of resident card of foreign customers. If customers have resident card with the term from 12 months and above are considered to be resident (except foreign nationals who are living in Vietnam for education, medical care or visiting purposes or who are working for diplomatic missions, consular missions or missions of international organizations in Vietnam, representative offices of foreign organizations in Vietnam)
